How it works

  1. Enter your link Whatever the code should open — a site, a playlist, a booking page.
  2. Choose an animation Six styles under Advanced Options: colour pulse, gradient flow, shimmer, reveal, spinning finders, and a scanning beam. The preview animates as you pick.
  3. Export as animated SVG A single vector file that animates anywhere SVG works — your website, a digital signage screen, a slide. Scale it to any size without losing sharpness.

Frequently asked questions

Do animated QR codes still scan?

Yes. The animation changes colour and movement, never the pattern's structure, so scanners read it normally. Qodie also checks every code you make by decoding the rendered image back — if a colour or logo choice would break scannability, you get a warning before you download it.

Where can I actually use an animated QR code?

Anywhere a screen is involved: your website, an email signature, digital signage, a presentation slide, a video overlay, a social post. On paper it will print as a still image, so for flyers and stickers use the standard PNG or PDF export.

What file format do I get?

Animated SVG — a vector file with the animation embedded. It opens in any modern browser and scales to any size. For static uses you can export the same design as PNG, plain SVG, or a print-ready PDF sticker.

Which animation should I pick?

Colour pulse and gradient flow read well from a distance, which suits signage. Shimmer and reveal are subtler and work nicely on a web page. The scanning beam is the most attention-grabbing and the most literal. Try them — the preview updates instantly.

Can I animate a QR code with my logo in it?

Yes. Animation, logo embedding, custom shapes and colours all work together, and the scannability check runs across the finished result.

Is it free?

Black-and-white QR codes are free forever, no account needed. Animation, logos, custom shapes and vector export are part of Qodie Pro at £4.99/month.
